In SUP, we spend at least 90% of the time on our board out of the water, but the notion of water quality is important for health reasons.
Contact with water is frequent and falls may be occasional.
DUF EXPÉDITIONS frequently checks the results of the surveys issued by the City of Montreal and the RSMA.

*This route may be suspended occasionally due to spills during heavy rain showers. As a precaution, Parks Canada is temporarily suspending access to the Lachine Canal for non-motorized boats.
** We are currently awaiting an update from the authorities for this route.
DUF EXPÉDITIONS prioritizes safety at all times and in all circumstances in the context of its activities both on and off the water. To do this, we deploy a nautical safety protocol based on the recommendations of Paddle Canada and Eau Vive Québec. A reminder of the safety rules is communicated before each outing and all participants must comply with them at all times. A water ride could be suspended or terminated due to a breach of safety rules without refund.
In this sense, our courses have been developed to optimize the safety of participants. They are available in beginner and intermediate versions.
The beginner versions of our courses have been designed according to these criteria:
Environmental and water
1-Access to water and banks is very easy and available over almost the entire route;
2-Visibility of the water body and the banks at all times;
3-Calm and easy water for navigation;
4-Very low or weak current
5-Consistency and predictability of current direction
6-Consistency and predictability of wind directions
7-Water quality (satisfactory to excellent)
8-Emergency rescue preparedness
9-As few obstacles or disruptive elements as possible
10- Short distances to be covered
